concrete_rewilding_issues
A work raising the stakes of bryophytic mat (moss) growth on human-built structures: foundations (concrete blocks) at the Wiels marsh and on public statuary featuring rockwork/rustication at the Bois de la Cambre. The collected data is explored through a diverted use of QGIS, a widespread cartography software.
In continuity with the work taking place in the exhibition zone, part of the process unfolds in situ through a collage-based covering of a ruined section of the marsh's industrial past — an act of redeployment of the bryophytic pattern found below on the aquatic banks.
