Putting into tension the rationalist omnipresence that pervades contemporary apparatus. We are confronted with a machine attempting to extract itself from the deterministic regime traditionally expected of the robotic object. The dissident machine takes place within a device of formal tension, embodied physically (through constraining industrial straps) and visually (the space being gridded by a video surveillance system): a setup establishing the precious conditions to host a disturbance of cartesian dichotomies. Each in/out cycle of the transparent organ — half fungal, half root-like in inspiration — generates a unique form under the effect of the unmasterable contingencies and parameters of the encountered milieu.

The algorithm governing the cycles of the soft part is configured in situ, according to the interaction of the artist/agent with the place during the spatial setup. Each iteration of the installation protocol leads to a mutant deployment, the work evolving with the conjunctures of the device's unfolding.
